A recent news release from the press on the Eco credentials of our semi-detached houses (The Oak) at Brunton Woods...

Edwardian Grandeur with exceptional eco credentials...

Known for building exquisite properties in prime locations, Countylife Homes has gained a reputation for delivering style and quality.

Less know perhaps, is the developer’s commitment to incorporate state of the art heating systems and insulation in all its new properties – making them both greener and more economical to run.

Work is currently underway at Brunton Woods, in Gosforth, where seven large and luxurious four bedroomed homes are being built. With two already reserved, potential buyers will need to act quickly.

The Brunton Woods homes will sit within a leafy grove and are to be constructed using a mixture of stone, brick and natural slate. All have been expertly designed to complement the local surroundings and will enjoy the traditional stylings of an old Edwardian property.

However, these timeless and beautiful facades will belie the cutting-edge build technology being used. High performance, traditionally styled windows, air source heat pumps and exceptional standards of pressure tested insulation, will all combine to minimise running costs and deliver the warmth and comfort expected of a new build home.

Charlotte Woodcock, Sales and Marketing Manager, explains: “We ran a series of emission and energy use calculations for one of our new Brunton Woods properties – the 2,900 square foot Oak. We measured these against results generated for an old Edwardian property, similar to those in the Gosforth and Jesmond area.

“The Oak’s calculated annual CO2 emissions were just a third of those for our old Edwardian home and with energy use therefore much lower, heating and hot water worked out at almost £1,000 a year more expensive for the old house - at around £1,730 in comparison to just £777 for The Oak.

“In line with Countylife’s superior specification, The Oak’s emissions were found to be a massive 41% better than current building regulations require. With many new build properties designed to merely achieve the very minimum efficiency level, we are delighted to be setting a higher standard for new build too.

““I think it is important that people who are energy or environmentally conscious, realise that they don’t have to compromise on size and style when looking for a high-end new home.”

And high end these properties certainly will be. All rooms are generously proportioned - with extra high ceilings and extensive glazing combining to enhance the palatial feel of the interiors. Bi-fold doors will open onto private terraces and balconies, seamlessly linking indoor and outdoor living spaces, providing the opportunity for alfresco dining and entertaining during the warmer months.

As standard in all Countylife properties, homes at Brunton Woods will include the finest integrated appliances, fixtures and fittings and will be completed to the very highest standard of finish.

Each house will enjoy its own private, south facing garden and will be surrounded by beautifully landscaped grounds, boundary walls, timber gates and estate fencing - designed to deliver a pleasing continuity across the whole development.
